Today’s forecast: Windy - Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind Project
Propelling Renewable Energy Forward
27 miles off the coast of Virginia, we’re leading the clean energy sector in offshore wind.
With two turbines completed and generating power, with expansion being fully constructed in 2026, the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project anchored in the Hampton Roads region will deliver up to 8.8 million megawatt hours per year of clean, renewable energy to the grid — powering up to 660,000 Virginia homes — and will avoid as much as 5 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually — the equivalent of planting more than 80 million trees or removing 1 million non-electric cars from the road for a year.

Harnessing the power of the sun
Whether it is solar panels at your home or large-scale solar farms, solar systems work the same. Solar panels absorb sunlight, passing the energy through the layers of the panels and converting it into electricity.

Grounded in energy
Diversity and inclusion are important to our company. They not only affect our bottom line, they are an integral part of our core value of One Dominion Energy — our term for teamwork. We want our employees to show up as their authentic selves so they can build a community where differences are celebrated and perspectives are broadened.
We strategically interviewed female and minority employees in hard to fill, predominately non-minority filled roles to encourage, inspire, and increase our diversity hires.

Video Ads Testing
We set up campaigns to custom matched audience lists that put image ads side by side video ads. For both ad formats, we integrated with lead generation forms, offering LinkedIn members a seamless user experience. We launched all campaigns to identical audiences, targeting, and budgets to let the platform optimize itself. After a week being live it was clear to see that the platform was showing the video ads more frequently so impression, click, and spend figures were drastically different.
To even the playing field, we looked at the efficiency and engagement metrics. For lead generation campaigns, video ads are effective in driving form completions and users have a higher propensity to submit a form from a video rather than a static ad.
Results
After just two weeks, the only thing that static ads had over video was a 20% lower CPC. Looking further down the funnel video ads performed at a 254% higher form completion rate, 276% higher conversion rate, and a 68% lower cost per lead. Going into the test, we hypothesized video would perform better, but we had no idea how much better. And to anyone thinking, “probably from 1,000 impressions and low spend”, this was from almost 75k impressions and over $7k spend.
